Ranch History
Blossom Bluff Orchards is a fourth generation family farm. Fran Loewen's grandparents, Daniel and Babette Lichti bought the farm as German immigrants in 1931. Fran's father, Herb Lichtin, began running the day to day operations in the 1940's and continued to do so through the 1990's. Fran and her husband Ted Loewen took over the farm and now partner with their own children, Bryce and Renata. Herb, though he no longer lives on the farm, still drives out every day to 'work' a few hours.
Practices
CCOF since 2006
Pesticides
Fran and Ted mow and shovel for weed control, use pherymones and BT's and oils for pests.
