Job Title: Culinary Gardener (Full-Time)

Location: Marin, Napa, and San Francisco, CA

Status: Part-Time to Full-Time after 90-Day Trial

About Officinalis Culinary Gardens

Officinalis Culinary Gardens is a small and growing studio. We design, install, and care for culinary gardens on private estates in Marin, Napa, and jewelbox-sized spaces in San Francisco. Our edible gardens are seasonal, medicinal, and full of magic.

The Role

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced gardener to help tend, grow, and steward our gardens to their full potential. This role includes hands-on work at our various projects. Maintaining the garden’s beauty and productivity by planting, pruning, harvesting, and problem-solving. You'll help us design seasonal crop rotations, keep the soil vibrant, and delight our clients with stunning and thriving edible spaces. This is hard work. It can be hot and physically demanding but between the pollinators, tangible results, and genuine appreciation from our amazing clients, it is deeply rewarding.

What We're Looking For

● Enthusiasm for edible gardening — a nerd for rare, new cultivars, joy when seeing your seeds germinate and overall excitement for gardens

● An obsessive eye for detail.

● Adaptability with time — Willing to work until the job is finished, sometimes installs are 12hrs long, sometimes the day is 3hrs.

● Experience — 1+ year in farming or edible landscaping OR 2+ years in high-end garden maintenance

● Soil enthusiast — if you squeal when you find a thriving worm party, you’re our people.

● Able to lift 50+ lbs regularly

● Strong communicator — with both teammates and clients

Bonus Skills

● Proficiency in design software: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, CAD, SketchUp, etc.

Compensation + Benefits

● Starting Compensation: $30/h, with opportunity to grow

● Schedule: Part-time to start, Full-time after a 90-day trial
